Wireless Connection Validation Process
Happy New Year and welcome to a new semester, I hope everything is going smoothly for all of you. This email is to serve as a general announcement that now is the time that everyone with a wireless laptop will be required to renew their campus wireless validation. If you are having issue with receiving email or accessing various network resources it is most probably due to this validation process which takes place at the beginning of each semester. Please be aware that this is only an issue for those persons with a wireless capable computer.
The validation process can be initiated by opening a web browser (Internet Explorer) and browsing to an external website (Google.com or Yahoo.com); alternatively you can also point your browser to https://mhb-dhcp.net.usf.edu/laptops/index.html and register via the direct link. Once you attempt to access a website outside of USF you will be prompted to enter wireless validation information which includes your @arts.usf.edu email address along with the corresponding password for that account (usually this is the password you use to login to your computer).
Once the validation process is complete your wireless connection should begin to operate normally within 5 minutes. Please note that this process only pertains to accessing network resources wirelessly from on campus. If you are having issue with this process please feel free to email me (sringo@arts.usf.edu) or Kevin Maroney (maroney@arts.usf.edu) and we will be more than happy to help you through the process.
